About Us

 

With a foundation in engineering, Gillian initially pursued a career in the corporate world, working for organisations like Cyanamid, Rolls-Royce Aerospace, and IBM UK Laboratories. Her academic journey included a BEng and a PhD in manufacturing engineering.

After a fulfilling stint in the Royal Navy as an Engineering & Training Management Officer, Gillian took a career break to raise her two sons. While her initial aspiration was to teach maths at secondary school, unforeseen health challenges led her down a different, yet equally fulfilling path.

Drawing upon her lifelong passion for art – a love that began in her teenage years with watercolor paintings of military uniforms – Gillian discovered a new artistic outlet. Combining her engineering precision with her creative flair, she founded Gillian Jones Designs.

Now, Gillian is focused on expanding her range of designs and seeking new outlets for her artwork. In her spare time, she has rediscovered a love for painting, particularly of dogs!
